Swiss soprano Regula Mühlemann was raised in Lucerne where she studied at the Conservatory of Lucerne with Prof. Barbara Locher. She records exclusively for Sony Classical. Her debut recording “Mozart Arias” was released in October 2016, her second album “Cleopatra” in September 2017.
The 17/18 season begins with Ms. Mühlemann returning to Geneva and making her debut as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) at Grand Théâtre de Genève, before heading to Naples performing Blonde (The abduction from the Seraglio) at the Teatro San Carlo. She is also cast as Rosina in Mozart’s La finta semplice in Birmingham and at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. On the concert stage, she sings performances of Haydn’s The Seasons under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin in Philadelphia, Mozart’s Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester at Prinzregententheater in Munich, Mozart’s c-Minor Mass in Winterthur, Fribourg and at KKL in Lucerne. Ms. Mühlemann sings Mahler’s Symphony No 4 with Staatskapelle Dresden, under the baton of Robin Ticciati. Further concerts and recitals take her to MÜPA Budapest (The Creation), Vevey, Bellmund, Bremen, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, St. Gallen and Basel. Regula Mühlemann performs the programme of her second record “Cleopatra” in Munich, Kufstein and Ludwigsburg. With Giovanni Antonini and the Kammerorchester Basel she performs Marzelline in a concert version of Fidelio. Furthermore, she sings Papagena (The Magic Flute) at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden directed by Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
Regula Mühlemann has already sung at the Zurich Opera House performing Giannetta in L’ Elisir d’amore and Despina in Così fan tutte at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, performed Nanetta, Papagena and Elisa at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2012, singing the young Papagena in Peter von Winter’s opera Das Labyrinth and sang Serpetta in Hans Neuenfels’s new production of La finta giardiniera at the Berlin Staatsoper. She made her house debut with the Grand Théâtre de Genève in the 2012/13 season. Regula Mühlemann is also a sought after concert singer. She regularly performs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland and Italy. As a regular guest at Lucerne Festival she has performed amongst others Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle with the Bayerische Rundfunk. Regula Mühlemann works with renowned conductors such as Nello Santi, Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Daniele Gatti, Pablo Heras-Casado and Ivor Bolton.
Ms. Mühlemann made her movie debut singing Ännchen in the feature film “Hunter’s Bride”, based on Weber’s Freischütz. The critically acclaimed movie was directed by Jens Neubert and featured Daniel Harding conducting the London Symphony Orchestra and is available on DVD and BluRay by Arthaus Musik.
