For over twenty years, the Sirba Octet has been thrilling audiences with its warm, joyful and emotional music. This group of eight classical musicians revives the music of Eastern Europe: klezmer, Yiddish, gypsy… Popular tunes that tell of exile, celebrations, memory and hope.
After landmark albums such as A Yiddishe Mame, Tantz! and Sirba Orchestra!, the Sirba Octet returns with a brand new program: Sirbalalaïka, a celebration of Russian, Gypsy and Klezmer music. For this vibrant project, the Sirba Octet is joined by soloist Alexeï Birioukov, virtuoso of the balalaïka, the musical symbol of Russia.
The Sirba Octet is a feast of sound and emotion, an unforgettable musical voyage of laughter, tears and shared memories.
