After studying music for schools at the Academy of Music in Detmold, she studied with Mitsuko Shirai and Hartmut H\u00f6ll.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a passionate concert-singer her extremely extensive repertoire encompasses all the major contralto and mezzo-soprano parts in the oratorio and concert repertoire from the Baroque to the Classical and Romantic periods to the 20th century music.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Significant steps in Gerhild Romberger\u00b4s career in recent years were concerts with Manfred Honeck, the Berlin Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Herbert Blomstedt and the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester under Riccardo Chailly. Furthermore, she performed with the Vienna and Bamberg Symphony Orchestras under Daniel Harding or at La Scala under Franz Welser-M\u00f6st.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlights of the current season include Mahler\u00b4s <em>Lied von der Erde<\/em> in Helsinki, Stockholm and Mulhouse as well as Mahler\u00b4s <em>8th Symphon<\/em>y at the Philharmonie Dresden. Furthermore, Gerhild Romberger performs in Mahler\u00b4s <em>3rd Symphony<\/em> in Tokyo, Madrid, at Hamburg\u00b4s Elbphilharmonie and, again, at La Scala in Milan. With Beethoven\u00b4s <em>9th Symphony<\/em> she can be heard in Vienna\u00b4s prestigious Musikverein under the baton of Andris Nelsons alongside the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
