Lucero Tena has marked a personal, unmistakable style to her performance of the castanets, and she has distinguished herself for her promoting and incorporating this instrument into the big concert halls as solo instrument of concert works. Under this meaning she has created the name of Castanets Soloist, proper to her activities.
Lucero Tena has performed as soloist in concert halls around the five continents, under the baton of conductors such as Loren Maazel, Mstislazv Rostropovich, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, Jesús López Cobos, Sergiu Comissiona, Franz-Paul Decker, Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, Peter Guth, García Navarro and Adrian Leaper, among others.
Apart from her recitals, accompanied with classic guitar or with piano, Lucero Tena has performed as soloist of prestigious orchestras, such as the Israel Philharmonic, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre du Capitole of Toulouse, Lyon Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony, Bayerischer Rundfunk of Munich, Spanish National Orchestra; Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, with always much acclaim from the public and the critics, success which was repeated on occasion of the farewell concert of this Orchestra in Lausanne; Madrid RTVE Orchestra with which Lucero Tena collaborated, in January 2002 in Madrid, for the official concert of the Spanish Presidency of the EEC; Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga in the Festival of Nerja; Galicia Symphony Orchestra or Orchestras of Strasburg and Ottawa among others.
Her last engagements includes Hannover opera house, La Folle Journée Festival in Nantes, Tokio and Warsaw, the Philarmonie of Berlin under the baton of Plácido Domingo (2016). On November 2016 she performed in a gala conducted by Jesús López Cobos.
Next engagements includes concerts in Spain, she will be debuting in the Philharmonie of Paris with the Orchestra of Pau Pays du Bearn as well as a recital tour in Germany and France with the harpist Xavier de Maistre.
